The Importance of Colour

An average product in the right colour will sell, but a good product in the wrong colour will not. During the change from printing ICA forecasts to issuing them online, the following email was received from an existing subscriber:

"I am in the process of producing our colour range for Autumn/Winter 09/10 and without your predictions don't know where to start."

Liz Dunn, Design Manager, GH Tayberry & Co. Ltd., Lincolnshire, UK

Colour is vital to business – from textiles and apparel to furnishings and paints, from cosmetics and lingerie to furniture, computers and cars, etc. Today, every business is in the colour business, and colour is the factor which dictates what sells, and what does not.

Colour comes before style and price, and is the first factor to which the customer responds. Accurate colour information is thus a vital need for all business sectors.
